Part II: Svādhiṣṭhāna: The Sacral Chakra

As we continue our seven-part chakra series, we move upward to Svādhiṣṭhāna, the sacral chakra. The second chakra is the seat of creativity, emotional flow, and sensuality.

Meaning & Symbolism

Svā means “self” and adhiṣṭhāna means “seat or residence.” This chakra reflects our essence and represents our creative potential and our inherent need to find our dharma.

Located between the coccyx and sacrum, Svādhiṣṭhāna is linked to the water element and governs the reproductive system, hips, kidneys, and lower abdomen. It influences our ability to experience joy, intimacy, and emotional well-being.
